Marisa Hidalgo is Associate Professor (Prof. Contratada Doctora, acreditada Prof. Titular) at the Department of Economics, University Pablo de Olavide, Seville (Spain). She holds a PhD in Economics from the University of Alicante and was a postdoctoral fellow at the University of Leicester (UK). Her research focus is in economics of education, evaluation of public policies, poverty and inequality. Her work has been published in the Scandinavian Journal of Economics, Journal of Economic Inequality, Economics of Education Review, Journal of Economic Behavior and Organization, and Social Science and Medicine, among others. She has worked as a consultant to OECD and the Ministry of Education in Spain.  She is currently Senior Expert in the European Expert Network on Economics of Education (EENEE).
