CamBio takes part in the Salón Internacional del Agua, Riego y Medio Ambiente (Smagua)

CEI CamBio has taken part – through Universidad Pablo de Olavide, coordinator of the project – in the Salón Internacional de Agua, Riego y Medio Ambiente (SMAGUA), a long established meeting which this year was celebrated between the 6th and 9th of March in Zaragoza. The meeting congregates researchers connected with water management, and this year included a new space focused on technological transference. This new forum aimed at facilitating communication between scientists and entrepreneurs, and at laying the foundations for future collaborative agreements.
The Project CEI CamBio, which includes an area of specialisation on climate change and water resources, was presented on the stand of Red OTRI Andalucía (ROA), shared with the other projects presented by Andalusian public universities. Our technicians and transference experts thus had the opportunity to promote our scientific-technological offer for the water management and environmental sectors.
Additionally, our technicians in transference met with interested entrepreneurs to show them what research can offer their businesses in the way of innovation and solutions. In order to facilitate this, the Oficina de Transferencia de Resultados de Investigación (OTRI) from UPO had previously informed participants of our offer, which was received with interest, most notably by those companies involved in water treatment and in the development of nanomaterials with new properties.
The Salón Internacional de Agua, Riego y Medio Ambiente is a biannual meeting organised by Feria de Zaragoza along with de Asociación de Ferias de España. The event is a meeting point for leading firms in all relevant sectors and for the professionals seeking to know the latest technologies, equipment and systems for the management and use of water resources.
