Attached to the Spanish Ministry of Science and Innovation, CIEMAT is a public research institution focused on energy and environment related issues, as well as on multiple groundbreaking technologies over a wide range of research fields.

It carries out research and technological development projects, and has become a referential representative of Spanish research in international arenas, also undertaking an advisory role for the public administrations.
