Estancia de Investigación del Prof. Henri Hakala (University of Vaasa)

Henri Hakala, lecturer from the University of Vaasa, Finland is a visiting scholar at the UPO until early December 2010. His main research interests are within strategic management, especially strategic orientations and on the development of strategy tools. He is a member of the ‘Strategy, Networks and Enterprise’ research group (SNE) at the University of Vaasa. The SNE group is most renowned for its long-standing research into multilateral and dyadic inter-organisational relationships within industrial value systems. Group’s research on strategy and entrepreneurship has focused on the strategic competences of SME’s, mostly within the technology industry; the group has also recently extended its focus towards research on industrial services business.

Within his home department of management, there is also a very active HRM-research group, focusing especially on IHRM topics such as, Managing Human Resources in Foreign Subsidiaries, Managing Expatriation, Mobility and Global Careers; and Managing Workforce Diversity, as well as on strategic HRM issues such as HRM and performance, Organisational learning and knowledge management.
