Research Center Icarea
Introduction
Icárea is a research centre dedicated to studying learning in the fields of History, Languages and Mathematics. The main aim of this Centre is to improve the quality of education through research on learning in these subjects.
Icárea is based at and functions under the auspices of Pablo de Olavide University, Seville. Over twenty researchers working in the fields of History, Mathematics, Languages and their learning are associated with the centre.
The research groups at Pablo de Olavide who have come together to form ICAREA have an established reputation in the area of educational research. They have contributed to innovative curricular and methodological advances in the field and, over the years, been involved in a variety of teacher and materials development initiatives.
The merging of these research groups into a single research body will increase their visibility and strengthen their potential to obtain resources for the development and undertaking of research in their given areas both individually and in concert.
