Universidad Pablo de Olavide (UPO), founded in 1997, is one of Spain’s youngest and smallest public universities. Named after an 18th century Peruvian intelectual, this dynamic University boasts a population of over 13,000 students (including 11% international students) and offers a wide range of undergraduate and graduate programs in such fields as Business, Social Sciences, Natural Sciences, Biotechnology, Sports Science, Law, Political Science and Computer Science, among others. It is located about 6 kilometers (less than 4 miles) from Seville’s beautiful city center with easy access to downtown via metro, bus and a bike path.

The University emphasizes research and international collaboration, offering a variety of exchange programs with institutions worldwide. Its campus is equipped with state-of-the-art facilities, including a main library, computer and science laboratories, and sports complexes, providing a vibrant and supportive environment for students. As a single campus model, it is designed to foster optimal interdisciplinary integration by situating its social, educational, research, residential, and sports facilities within the same geographical area.

UPO is committed to compliance with the Sustainable Development Goals of the UN Agenda 2030 and has a strong social and environmental agenda. In 2020, the university appointed the Rector’s Delegate for a Sustainable Campus, entrusting them with full responsibility for environmental sustainability. This includes spearheading the transition to renewable and efficient energy sources, promoting green mobility, conserving biodiversity, and advancing environmental education.

UPO’s commitment to innovation, sustainability, and social responsibility, as well as its high rankings in research productivity, makes it an attractive institution of higher learning for both local and international students. It prides itself on the diversity of its students and recently ranked in the top 20% of young universities worldwide in the Times Higher Education rankings. We welcome your interest in the University and our community and look forward to seeing you in Seville!
