Mariana Ladrón de Guevara Zuzunaga

Bachelor’s degree in History at the University of Salamanca (2018-2022) and masters in American Studies (with concentration in History) at the University of Seville (2023). She won the National History Contest (2nd Edition, 2022) within the framework of the Commemoration Agenda of the Bicentennial Independence of Peru (Ministry of Culture). Her research focuses on Atlantic history, particularly on the political, social, and cultural relations between Spain and the Viceroyalty of Peru. She is currently a predoctoral candidate and FPU research fellow at the Pablo de Olavide University in Seville. Her doctoral thesis analyses the agency of the viceroys of Peru’s chamber physicians between 1630 and 1730 and their relationships with the local medicine and its urban framework.
