  • Laura Baselga-Pascual (lbaselga@deusto.esis an associate professor in the area of Accounting and Finance at Deusto Business School (San Sebastian, Spain). She holds a PhD in Financial Economics and Accounting from the University of Pablo de Olavide (Seville, Spain). Her research focuses on board characteristics, ethics and risk determinants of financial institutions, corporate tax avoidance and green bonds and firm performance. She has published various book chapters and papers in scientific journals indexed in the Journal Citation Report, including Journal of Business Ethics (indexed on FT50), The North American Journal of Economics and Finance, Emergent Markets Review, and Sustainability, among others. She has presented different works at international conferences. She performs editorial review activities for journals such as Applied Economic Letters, Sustainability, Internet Banking & Commerce, Business and Economic Research, Comparative Economic Studies, and Ekonomiaz. She belongs to the researching groups: Innovación, Competitividad, Emprendimiento y Sostenibilidad (Universidad de Deusto); and Banking and Entrepreneurial Finance Research Group - BANEF (Universidad Pablo de Olavide). She is also a member of "Asociación de Jóvenes Investigadores en Ciencias  Económicas y Dirección de Empresas" (AJICEDE) and of the Academic Female Finance Committee (AFFECT). 

 

  • Emma Berenguer is a Senior Lecturer at the Department of Financial Economics and Accounting in Pablo de Olavide University, in Seville. She has also worked as a research assistant at San Telmo International Institute, a renowned business school in Andalusia, and has been a visiting lecturer at the DBHW Baden Wuttemberg Cooperative State University (Germany). Her research is currently focused on SMEs, with a particular emphasis on funding and internationalization. She is also a specialist in case methodology. She obtained her PhD from the National University of Distance Education (UNED) in 2009.

 

  • Clara Cardone-Riportella is Full Professor of Finance at Pablo de Olavide University, Seville (Spain) since July 2011. In addition to her teaching and research she collaborates as ad hoc reviewer for some finance and management journals. She has been main researcher of several projects of the Spanish Ministry of Education and Science. She has been a visiting professor at Universities of Rochester (USA), Kingston (Small business Research Centre), Reading (UK), Udine (Italy), among other Universities from Latin America (e.g. Universidad Nacional del Sur and Universidad del Litoral in Argentina). She has published various academic research articles in prestigious journals such as International Small Business Journal, Scandinavian Journal of Management, The Geneva Papers on Risk and Insurance, Journal of Banking and Finance, Spanish Journal of Finance and Accounting, Journal of Economic of Public Reform, and Regional Studies, among others. She obtained her PhD from the Universidad Autónoma of Madrid, Spain. Finally, Clara is ANEP's (Agencia Nacional de Evaluación y Prospectiva) reviewer since 2006. Between 2007 and 2011 she was ANECA's (Agencia Nacional de Evaluación de la Calidad y Acreditación) member of the Committee for Associate Professor Accreditation.

 

  • Pilar Giraldez-Puig is a Senior Lecturer at the Department of Financial Economics and Accounting in Pablo de Olavide University. She has also worked at the University of Seville, and her research is focused on the Finance field. She has been a visiting lecturer at the DBHW Baden Wuttemberg Cooperative State University (Germany). She is currently working on SMEs internationalization, with a particular emphasis on corporate governance. She has published academic research articles in prestigious journals, highlighting Business Ethics and Journal of Financial Management, among others. She obtained her PhD from the Universidad of Seville, Spain.

 

 

 
  • María-José Palacín-Sánchez is a Senior Lecturer in Finance at the University of Seville (Spain). She obtained her Ph.D. in Business Administration, Department of Financial Economic and Operation Management, University of Seville (Spain). She has been visiting lecturer at the Small Business Research Centre (Kingston Business School) in Kingston University (UK). Her research interests are focused on corporate finance, with a main emphasis on capital structure of SMEs and their corporate governance. Her research articles have been published in various prestigious journals, such as Small Business Economics and Operations Management Research, among others.

 

 

 

  • Filippo di Pietro, Ph.D., is a Senior Lecturer in Finance at the Department of Financial Economics and operations management at Universidad de Sevilla (Spain). He received his Doctorate from the Universidad de Sevilla in Business Administration, with a specialization in finance. He received a Master Degree in Finance at University of Bologna (Italy). He has been Visiting Professor at different European Universities. His current research interests include corporate finance, SMEs, risk management, innovation, regional financial system. His recent contributions have been published in Journal of Small Business Economics , Regional Studies, Applied Economic Letters, Sustainability, Journal of Economics and Business, European Research on Management and Universia Business Review

 

  • Reyes Samaniego-Medina is a Senior Lecturer in Finance at Pablo de Olavide University of Seville (Spain). She has been visiting lecturer at the Leonard N. Stern School of Business in New York and the Centre of Quantitative Finance in London, among others. Her main research interests include banking and finance with special emphasis on credit risk management and Basel Accords. She collaborates as reviewer for some finance and management journals. She has published academic research articles in journals such as Journal of Banking and Finance, Journal of Business Economics and Management and International Journal of Banking and Finance. She obtained her PhD from the University of Seville, Spain.

 

  • Antonio Trujillo-Ponce is a Senior Lecturer in Finance at Pablo de Olavide University of Seville (Spain). He is currently the Director of the Banking and Entrepreneurial Research Group (BANEF). His research interests are focused on finance, with a particular emphasis on banking. He has published over 20 academic research articles in various journals, such as the Journal of Banking and Finance, Journal of Business Economics and Management, Accounting and Finance, Journal of Economic Policy Reform, Applied Economics, Universia Business Review, and the Spanish Journal of Finance and Accounting. He obtained his PhD from the University of Seville, Spain.
