Patricia Bou Franch

Patricia Bou-Franch is professor of at the University of Valencia. Her research interests include sociopragmatics, digital discourse, gender, and cross-cultural pragmatics. She has published in specialised journals like Language and Communication, Journal of Language Aggression and conflict, Intercultural Pragmatics, Journal of Pragmatics, Pragmatics & Society, Journal of Computer-Mediated Communication, Journal of Politeness Research, Journal of Language and Politics and Gender and Language. She edited the volumes Exploring Language Aggression against women (Benjamins, 2016) and Ways into Discourse (Comares, 2006), and co- edited Analyzing Digital Discourse: New Insights and Future Directions (Palgrave Macmillan, 2019). She also co-edited the special issues The Pragmatics of Textual Participation in the Social Media in the Journal of Pragmatics (2014) and  Discurso, pragmatica y sociedad (Discourse, Pragmatics and Society) in Quaderns de Filologia (2007).

Patricia is co-editor of the journal Spanish in Context and serves on the editorial board of the Journal of Language Aggression and Conflict, Internet Pragmatics, Verbum et Lingua, and of the series Advances in Pragmatics and Discourse Analysis of Cambridge Scholars Publishers. She has evaluated manuscripts for renown scholarly journals and publishers.

Patricia is co-founder of the Approaches to Digital Discourse Analysis (ADDA) Conference series.
