The Permanent Seminar Iberian Worlds and Early Globalization will have a new session next Friday 28 May 2021. On this day, the professors Federica Morelli (Department of Cultures, Politics and Society, University of Turin) and Alexander M. Semyonov (Department of History, HSE University in St. Petersburg) will discuss the end of the Spanish and Russian empires through a conversation entitled « Crises, transformations and dissolution in the Spanish and Russian empires: Comparative views».

The speakers meet in order to compare the way in which the empires were dissoluted, the reactions towards crises, the images shaped around the empires as well as empires’ legacy. After the dialogue, the assistants will have the opportunity to debate.
