The Permanent Seminar "Iberian Worlds and Early Globalization" will have a new session next Thursday, September 23rd, 2021 at 18:00 (CEST). On this occasion, the meeting will discuss forced labor and early globalization and will feature the following researchers:

Paola A. Revilla Orías (Universidad Católica Boliviana «San Pablo», La Paz), with a paper entitled «Coerciones intrincadas: reflexiones sobre el trabajo africano e indígena en Charcas (Bolivia), siglos XVI y XVII».

Lúcio de Sousa (Tokyo University of Foreign Studies, Tokio), with a paper entitled «Forced labor: The Japanese Experience in the Habsburg Empire during the Iberian Union (1580-1640)».

The event will be moderated by Professor Igor Pérez Tostado, member of the PAI-HUM 1000 research group and will include closing remarks by Alejandro García Montón, also a member of the PAI-HUM 1000 group. You can consult the complete program here.
