Alicia Muñoz Fernández

Alicia Muñoz Fernández graduated in Translation and Interpreting from the Universidad Pablo de Olavide (UPO) in 2019, where she also studied a master’s degree in Education in 2020. During that same year, she was granted a scholarship from the Ministry of Education at UPO’s Department of Philology and Translation, where she became acquainted with the research of legal and sworn translation. Intending to pursue the same academic and professional path, she studied a master’s degree in public service interpreting and translation at the Universidad de Alcalá in 2021. She is currently working on her PhD at UPO, researching the role of translators and interpreters in the fight against organized crime and terrorism. She balances her research studies with her job as a secondary school teacher of English and French and as a freelance translator and interpreter. Her main fields of research are police translation and interpreting and the training of both Police and Security Forces and police translators and interpreters.
