María José Rodríguez Ruiz

María José Rodríguez Ruiz has degrees in German Philology from the University of Seville and in Translation and Interpreting from the University of Granada. She also holds an MA in Intercultural Communication, Translation and Interpreting from the Universidad Pablo de Olavide. In 2003, she was certified as an officially authorised Translator and Interpreter of Spanish and English by the Spanish Ministry of F0reign Affairs and Cooperation. She joined the Department of Philology and Translation at the Universidad Pablo de Olavide (Seville) as a part-time lecturer in 2008, combining her work at this institution with professional translation and teaching at Spanish secondary schools. She has also worked as a translator and interpreter of German, English, and Spanish at a multinational engineering company, on a Spanish Ministry of Defence project. Currently, she is working on her PhD dissertation about audiovisual translation for children’s cartoon series. Her main fields of research are audiovisual translation, translation of children’s products and prefabricated orality.
