URBAN POLICIES, SOCIOECONOMIC CHANGE AND INNOVATION. URBAN-IMPACTS. 

Most inclusive societies are a main objective for European Union, including the reduction of social inequalities in urban areas. This objective is included in European Union recommendations and policies about integrated and sustainable urban development. This implies urban intervention with a multi-sectorial agenda (publics pace, labour market, economic development, sustainability, social policies), as well as hybrid models of governance (including different kind of public and private actors). Does this model of European urban policy has relevant impacts on social, economic, and cultural conditions of territories in which are applied?

The main objective of this project is to analyze the impact of the URBAN communitarian programme as an ‘exemplar case’ of the European model of integrated urban development. The evaluation of this program has been centered on administrative and management aspects, and its impact evaluation has been . By using quasi-experimental research designs the project will evaluate the impact of these projects on neighborhoods’ quality of live, and specially, the promotion of innovative contexts and practices.
