Relación directa y mediadora de las TIC sobre el rendimiento de la diversificación empresarial

Resumen

El presente estudio analiza el impacto que ejerce el uso de las tecnologías de información y comunicación (TIC) sobre la diversificación y el rendimiento empresarial de las pequeñas y medianas empresas (pymes). A partir de una muestra de 95 empresas de la comunidad autónoma del País Vasco, se evidencia que las empresas diversificadas muestran un mayor nivel de uso de las TIC y que este recurso afecta positivamente el rendimiento financiero y no financiero de la empresa. Los análisis muestran también que las TIC son una variable mediadora entre el tipo de diversificación y el rendimiento de los negocios en los cuales ha entrado la empresa. Para el análisis estadístico descriptivo y correlacional de las variables, se utilizó el software IBM SPSS en su versión 21. Entre los futuros trabajos que pueden derivarse de este, está el de aplicar el modelo a diferentes industrias con la idea de comparar los resultados encontrados y definir estrategias específicas.
