Abstract

Sculptor Marcos de Cabrera is a Sevillian artist from the 17th century whose shortage of works and news referring to it, turn complicated the study about him. This has motivated the development of hypothesis, many of them erroneous, leading to confusions. This study is a critical review that tries to establish links among as many data as possible, providing at the same time a series of reflections upon the biographical ground and the artistic and technical one, as well.
