TÓPICOS APOLOGÉTICOS EN LA OBRA DE FÍRMICO MATERNO DE ERRORE PRO- FANARUM RELIGIONUM
Keywords:

Christianity came under Roman rule, in an environment in which the mystery cults were booming. From its beginnings, Christianity was described as a “no- innovative” religion which shared many similarities with other cults with the same sociocultural atmosphere. That is the reason because the Christian apologists, especially among the II and IV cen- turies, exerted themselves to discredit the paganism in general and the mistery cults in particular to show Christianity as the only true religion. Firmico Materno wrote De errore profanarum religionum in the 4th century B.C, at a time when the emperor had converted to Christianity and the debate about the direction of religious loans was still under discussion. Key words: mystery cults, apologists, paganism, religious loan.
