Abstract

The problem of the unequal exchange of labour between developed and developing countries is examined, along with its link with the conditions of trade of mutual benefit. For this purpose the main theoretical models of international trade based on comparative advantages are used, along with an extension to the case of two factors of the concept of exchange rate of labour derived from trade. As a result it is concluded that the unequal exchange is inherent to the trade between countries with different levels of development as long as it is based on mutual benefit, and that it plays a role in widening of the opening in the per capita rent of these countries.
