Reworking the republican tradition is a basis of a contemporary philosophy of government. This paper attempts to give a sense of the direction in which a reworked republicanism would take democratic theory. The paper is in three sections. The first presents a sketch of neorepublican theory. The second develops an example: el condominium. And the third spells out the broad lessons for democratic theory
