Abstract

The archaeological intervention in La Venta, in the vicinity of Guarromán, to the North of the province of Jaén, offered one of the most significant of the simplicity of the Roman settlement Earl examples, documenting most of an agricultural settlement. But it also offers one of the most ancient examples that we know in the Alto Guadalquivir of Christianization of late Roman society, in the sphere of the bishopric of Castulo, between the V and VII centuries.
