Abstract

This article disclose how started the phenomenon of temporary exhibitions at the Museum of Fine Arts of Seville. It covers from the first opening of Museum´s collection by request of the painter Rafael Benjumea, until the two major exhibitions of the mid-nineteenth century, celebrated in 1849 and 1856.
