Abstract

Framed within the national research project “The patrimonialization of a territory: shaping cultural landscapes between the Tagus and Guadiana” analyze the process of creation and development of the Farmhouse of Rincón, within the agricultural landscape of the Monastery of Guadalupe. Throughout the modern age religious institution that supplied the oil taken from his olive grove and obtained significant revenues through  its exploitation. It even served as a temporary residence for monks and guests, completed with stable housing estates workers. It highlights the chapel built in the second half of the sixteenth century, which presents an excellent altarpiece of Talavera tiles covering the entire head with a rich religious iconography, good quality and conservation. On the other hand, the cellar, rectangular and large capacity, is the most attractive we know in Extremadura. We study this complex from its inception to the present, using unpublished sources of the Modern Age dealing with it, own accounting books, plus maps and plans made in the seventeenth century.
