Author Biographies

Elena García Gayo, Diputación Provincial de Ciudad Real, España

Graduated in Conservation and Restoration of Cultural Heritage from the Escuela Superior de Conservación y Restauración de Bienes Culturales (ESCRBC), in Madrid. She has worked as a conservator-restorer in the Cultural Heritage Service of the Provincial Council of Ciudad Real since 1990. At the same time, she is coordinator of the working groups of the Spanish International Institute for Conservation of Historic and Artistic Works (GE-IIC) and of its group Arte Urbano since 2015, date of the beginning of her collaboration with them. She has collaborated with the Follow-up Commission of the National Plan for the Conservation of Cultural Heritage of the 20th century on behalf of the GE-IIC. She has been invited, as an advisor, to the CAPuS project “Conservation of art in public spaces”, a cooperation Erasmus + project for innovation and good practices -Knowledge Alliances- of the EEC, coordinated by Università di Torino and the Mines Institute of Universidad de Vigo. She is the creator and manager of the Observatorio de Arte Urbano. Also, she directs and edits the digital specialized magazine Mural Street Art Conservation.

Laura Luque Rodrigo, Universidad de Jaén, España

She holds a Ph.D. in History of Art from Universidad de Jaén and she teaches at the same university. She has worked on art inventories, participated in research projects, published numerous articles in scientific journals, book chapters, exhibition catalogues, etc. She has also participated in many national and international conferences. She did a research stay in Rome and a teaching stay in Siena. She received a prize for entrepreneurship. She is a member of the scientific committee of several journals. She is a member of the research group Arquitecto Vandelvira (HUM 573), co-coordinator of the group Arte Urbano y Público of the GE-IIC and member of the multidisciplinary seminar Women, Science and Society. She has also coordinated thirty informative activities, published in The Conversation and regularly in the newspaper El Obrero. She has directed research and teaching innovation projects and she is currently supervising a Ph.D. thesis.
