The article analyses Memorias trans: transexuales - travestís - transformistas (2006) by Antoni Gracia José (Pierrot) as a counter-narrative to the official discourse of the Spanish Transition. The work is presented as a hybrid testimony that combines autobiography, interviews and visual archive, overflowing the traditional forms of the autobiographical genre. From perspectives on the ‘archive of feelings’ and queer genealogies, it examines how the volume articulates diverse trans voices that subvert stigmatizing stereotypes and make historically silenced experiences visible. Memorias trans recovers testimonies of key figures in trans performance during the late Franco and incipient democracy, while at the same time highlighting the violence exercised by medical, religious and legal institutions. The text highlights the spectacle as a space of affective refuge and resistance. The author proposes to read the work as an expanded archive that mixes oral accounts, press and photographs to construct a collective and affective memory. In its political dimension, the volume aims to link past and present generations, projecting a utopian horizon for sexual and gender dissidence. The insistence that ‘these memories have no end’ reaffirms their open, choral and transformative character, inviting us to extend the trans genealogy beyond their pages.
