Xavier Mina was a young man from Navarra, Spain, who dedicated almost 10 years of his short life to the insurgency (1808-1817), through guerrilla warfare, in favor of the freedom of the peninsular people, in the face of the Napoleonic invasion, which earned him four years in prison; and against the absolutism of King Fernando VII in the peninsula itself and later in New Spain. Nevertheless, in turn, he would give freedom to his people after almost 300 years of being conquered, which earned him his death. However, his struggle would be an important part of the process of New Spanish Independence and would contribute to the subsequent implementation of a constitutional monarchy in Spain.
