Este artículo indaga en los efectos sociales de la guerra de independencia en una provincia enclavada en el corazón del actual Noroeste argentino. El objetivo consiste en identificar las demandas que generó la presencia del Ejército Auxiliar del Perú en la región y en analizar el impacto de la prolongada coyuntura bélica de las primeras décadas post-independientes sobre los diferentes segmentos de la sociedad tucumana.
This article inquire into the social effects of the war of independence in a province located in the heart of the current Argentine Northwest. The objective is to identify the demands generated by the presence of the Auxiliary Army of Peru in the region and to analyze the impact of the prolonged war situation on the different segments of Tucuman’s society in the first decades of post-Independence.
