Manipular el Texto Imperial: Traducir, Reescribir
Keywords:
Epitomizing, summarizing and translating were constant tasks in José Martí’s journalistic work. While cutting and extracting texts from their original source, he placed them under judgement, in a way that the writer’s voice reorganized and interpreted them from his Hispanic American background and viewpoint, which were marked by a rather audacious criticism. This paper proposes a reflection about the cultural mediation work, which this author carries out in a deep and conscious way.
