Keywords:
This essay analyses the diplomatic activity of the Venezuelan governments in relation to the failed West Indies Federation. This was a project for the political independence of Britain’s Caribbean colonies during the 1950s and 1960s. Different documents were consulted in the Archive of the Venezuelan Ministry of Foreign Affairs , and analyzed in the light of the mutual perceptions of Latin American and Anglophone Caribbean peoples.
