The daily paper EL PAIS approaches the figure of Chavez in the antipolitical context to which they are so hostile. From the beginning they were very critical with the venezuelan leader, they have been maintaining this approach until now. He was defined as a leader with a populist, authoritarian and nearly fascist tendency. Always denouncing the threat to civil liberties of this government. In this sense, EL PAIS, has allied with opponent newspaper and social and economic groups opposing this leader. So far that a coup d´état against a legitimally elected mandate is supported and justified.
