Abstract

Few publications have been made about the life and work of the great architect Julio de Saracíbar and Gutierrez de Rozas. In fact, nobody knows the date of his death. We can verify that he lived until 1913 and his last Spanish construction would date from 1906. His work is huge and varied although markets will determine the way of his wife. Firstly, he travelled to París where he visited Les Halles. Secondly, he built the remodelling of the market of Bilbao and the design of the project of two markets in Linares. Finally his last known work to date, the market of the Victoria in Puebla (Mexico), where we can find the last reference about his work.
