The author reflects on the agonizing situation in which some rights are currently immersed, especially social rights and those relating to international protection. This situation is all the more worrying in the light of recent dishonest practices within the most emblematic international bodies responsible for guaranteeing these rights (including the European Committee of Social Rights). However, the dangers of weakening, or even annihilation, affect all rights, because rights are part of a whole. Indeed, all rights (including civil and political rights) are subject to a kind of contagion principle due to currents of thought hostile to the rule of law as an axiological requirement of the international order. Ultimately, this contagion has a negative projection in the field of legislative, governmental and judicial action under the guise and pretext of the fight against crime and other global risks, affecting people in situations of vulnerability (children, asylum seekers, etc.).
