Change of Era of the Magazine

Abstract

In January 2025, the journal will change its stage. The current co-editors, David Moscoso and Raúl Sánchez, will give way to a new team of people who will succeed us in the effort to keep the journal active and with a renewed air. The objective of this project, which emerged in 2020 within the Sports Sociology Committee of the Spanish Federation of Sociology, to create a space for reflection and debate around the sporting phenomenon from the social sciences, remains valid. The vocation is the same: to connect, from scientific rigor, the main theories and currents of sociology - but also those of related disciplines (anthropology, history, social psychology, sports sciences and political and moral philosophy) - with the intellectual debate of our time around the sporting phenomenon. And with that purpose, the journal has been open throughout this time to all researchers in the social sciences, regardless of their type of specialization. Likewise, the journal will continue its process of internationalization in a scientific world where Anglo-Saxon publishers are hegemonic, although they are not in the same position as Spain to establish synergies with Latin America. For this reason, contributions are published in the journal in Spanish and English.
