Abstract

The Chapterhouse of Seville’s Cathedral −which is the first one with oval floor in Spain− is one of the most prodigious and avant-garde examples of the 16th century’s Spanish architecture. Though also, the authorship of this room, built in a long-term process, is one of the biggest questions without a clear and consensual solution of historiography of Art. A question that, maybe, won’t be clarified in a clear and definitive way without a new and substantial documentary contribution. In this context, it is decisive the appearance and contribution of Francisco del Castillo El Mozo, whose figure seems to be determinant in the gestation of the original idea of this project.
