Abstract

Near Padrón (A Coruña), on the banks of the river Ulla, it’s located the Franciscan Monastery of San Antonio de Herbón. It is a simple building: his church and his altarpieces are the result of reforms carried out during the Baroque period, particularly so in the eighteenth century. There they founded a College of the Propaganda Fide, the history of which was linked to the history of the missions and the Franciscan missionaries in the Indies. In this paper, I have shown a “still photo” of the interior aspect of the Franciscan Church of Herbón and particularly its furnishings in the early eighteenth century.
