Abstract

Francisco Antonio Gijón is the last representative of the Sevillian baroque and he immortalized its characteristics in the Christ of Expiration statue of Triana neighborhood by means of the made death meat and made God wood. This work gives information about his sculptural production trying to identify a carving at the present thanks to a writig of 1673 whith what he together with the gilden master Juan Luis de Rojas promised to carve a statue of Christ tied to the column.
